Yes, 2000-series trainers all fit mountain bike tires as large as 29 x 2.3.
We do however recommend you use a low-profile 700 x 38c tire when riding indoors for a smoother and quieter ride.
If you own an older Kinetic trainer (pre-2013 with V-shaped frame) we recommend you use a low-profile 700 x 38c tire when riding on the trainer – 29-inch mountain bike tires are higher profile and may drag on the flooring when in the older Kinetic trainer frames.
Another solution is to remove your 29-inch rear wheel and replace it with a 26-inch wheel (with smooth tread tire) for indoor use only. This is particularly easy with a disc wheel, as there are no brake caliper issues.
If you don't already own a Kinetic trainer and you're considering buying one to use with a 29-inch mountain bike, we suggest purchasing a 2000-series trainer with our new frame designed to fit larger diameter wheels.
